  The Litebook® uses LEDs instead of fluorescent tubes because research has shown that it is not only about "lux" and raw spectral energy. It is about selecting the proper shorter wavelength and the effect of that light on the human circadian rhythm. Our LEDs emit UV-free white light that peaks in the blue wavelength (at around 460 nanometers) for maximum efficiency. This combination of bright light at the appropriate wavelength produces desired results so you may feel better faster. This may be why many Litebook® users report shorter treatment times than with traditional fluorescent light boxes.
